The staff team is available 10am-6pm, Monday – Friday. Medication Monitoring and Wellbeing support is offered twice a day on weekends for those that need it. Staff are not on duty overnight however, we have an out of hours mobile which is available to call for emotional support from a staff member you would be familiar with.
Each Individual has a Keyworker who will get to know them, their care and support needs and what goals they want to achieve. Every 6 months an Internal Review is completed to ensure support sessions are being used effectively and there is a collaborative approach to working towards your goals and realising your potential. Unlike many organisations, we are able to offer 1:1 therapy as part of a placement at Keystones, at no additional cost to the Service User. Waiting lists are usually no longer than 2 weeks. We believe this to be an important resource to help people understand and process there experience.
Many people we support have had long hospital stays under section, and it can take time to feel confident enough to find hobbies and interests in the wider community.
Keystones has an Art Studio and Resource Room within our shared houses where we facilitate Art, Relaxation, Music, and Up-cycling groups.
We run groups and regular trips in and around Bristol, to help people get used to the local area, meet others, develop a routine and find hobbies they enjoy. We have a Football group, a Service User only trip, and a Pool group. Examples of monthly trips include visiting Wildplace project, Bath, Harbourside, Clevedon beach, Cinema or a pub lunch. In the Summer we have an annual Pride BBQ and a charity walk to raise money for local charities.
We plan regular committee meetings that anyone within the service can attend to share their views. This could involve reviewing policies, suggesting activities and giving feedback on what they like about Keystones and what can be improved. We also send out regular feedback forms to ensure there are a variety of ways to give feedback.
We have several houses, most have 6 bedrooms with communal bathrooms, lounge, kitchen and garden. The communal areas are furnished, and we have Virgin TV. You can add decorations and personal touches to your bedroom. We have some 1 bedroom flats available for those who are more independent and need less support. Mostly people move into a house with higher support, and then move into a flat from there if it’s suitable for them.
